Cain is Bigfoot

Cain is bigfootThe Church takes no official stance on this, but some members believe that the legendary Sasquatch (or Harry Henderson as I like to call him) is Cain. The main source that usually is used to back this theory is the reminiscence of Abraham Smoot of a story from one of the Church’s first apostles, David W. Patten. Patten claimed that in 1835 he encountered Cain walking along the side of the road. He wrote: “He walked along beside me for about two miles. His head was about even with my shoulders as I sat in my saddle. He wore no clothing, but was covered with hair. His skin was very dark.”

I can see how someone could get Bigfoot from that description. The Smoot/Patten story was also quoted in Spencer W. Kimball’s book, “The Miracle of Forgiveness”. In the 1980’s, there was a Bigfoot sighting in South Weber, Utah and many members used this story to explain how and why these sightings occurred.

Having just returned from my mission in north Washington state (where the watch for Squatch is alive and well) I am amazed at how many people talk about this, but it can’t be.

In the account of the flood, it clearly states in Genesis 7:
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

So you would have to assume that Cain was on the ark. However:

    1st Peter 3:
20 God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

There were only 8 souls on the ark. Namely: Noah, Ham, Shem, Japheth, and their 4 wives.

So Cain ain’t Sasquatch. He might exist (and there are some cryptids that have been proven to exist! Look up the Nunda) but he ain’t Cain.

    Cool website though.

Wow, I never heard that I should believe that Cain is bigfoot. I always thought that bigfoot was the guy that does this website. Have you ever seen him? Tall guy with big feet, and a heckuva nice wife.

As far as I know, no one has ever seen the guy who runs this website and Bigfoot in the same room at the same time. Just sayin’.
