Mormons supported George W. Bush more than Mitt Romney?

True

mitt_romney2In the 2012 election, Democrat Barack Obama narrowly defeated Republican Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Pew Research released its findings on how people of different faiths voted. While Mormon voters were firmly in Romney’s corner, Romney did not receive as much support from Mormon voters as George W. Bush did in the 2004 election (exit poll data on Mormons was unavailable for 2008).

In 2004, Bush had the support of 80% of Mormons. Democratic nominee John Kerry had 19%. In 2012, Romney received the support of 78% of Mormons while President Obama had 21%.
