Oklahoma stake center spared by tornado
True (but not as miraculous as stated)
In May of 1999 a tornado hit Oklahoma City. After this terrible event, which caused severe damage, a story started spreading on the Internet about how the LDS stake center, mission home, and Bishop’s Storehouse were in the direct path of the tornado, but were spared without any damage at all.
According to Church leaders in Oklahoma, it is true that none of these buildings were damaged, but it is not true that they were in the direct path of the tornado. The closest it got to any of the buildings was about ¼ mile away from the stake center.
