Band members of “Neon Trees” are Mormons
True and false
Neon Trees is an American alternative rock band. Formed initially by neighbors Tyler Glenn and Chris Allen, who both grew up in Murrieta, California, the band made its first home in Provo, eventually adding Branden Campbell and Elaine Bradley to the lineup. All four members of Neon Trees are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In a March 2014 issue of “Rolling Stone” magazine, Tyler Glenn came out as being gay. Glenn says he’s known he was gay since he was a young child, but kept his sexuality a secret. “I had my crushes on guys throughout high school, but it was never an overwhelming thing until my 20s,” he admits. “Then I’d be dating girls and in love with my straight friend and it was the worst feeling in the world.”
In spring of 2016, Glenn came out against the LDS church in a very controversial video. The video was extremely anti-LDS and included Glenn spitting on an altered painting of Joseph Smith (before it actually got worse). He is no longer Mormon.
