Snoop Dogg is a Mormon
False / but a great April Fools Joke
On April 1, 2008, an email began circulating that Snoop Dogg had converted to Mormonism. The email even linked to what appeared to be a CNN story about the conversion. Although the website appeared to be from CNN, it was not a valid CNN URL – it was a great April Fools hoax.
The site contained a story and a great Photoshopped picture of Snoop reading a Book of Mormon. The hoax website has been deleted, but below is the text that the site contained –

I heard Ice T converted but had to change his name to Root Beer…
